We'd like to announce that Alternate URL Ads now supports Google AdSense Link Units. Now you can use AUA to improve your revenue not just on Google AdSense Ad Units but for Google AdSense Link Units as well.

This update introduces six new unique link unit ad units. The new link units come in the following dimensions.
  • 728 x 15 Horizontal
  • 468 x 15 Horizontal
  • 200 x 90 Vertical
  • 180 x 90 Vertical
  • 160 x 90 Vertical
  • 120 x 90 Vertical

It's time for us to push the 2.0 version of our Alternate URL Ad service system live. This process will be happening for a few hours this morning.

This update includes a number of code revisions to optimize for speed. We've also run all our js code through the TRYNT Javascript Compression API.

Here's another blogger, eJone, who's taking advantage of Alternate URL Ads to improve his Google AdSense revenues for his blog eJone Clicks. eNone Clicks looks like a personal blog with a tech edge.

I personally love how he is using images to improve the visual qualities of his AUA and Google AdSense ads. This should really translate into more clicks on both networks for eJone.

"Dear Alternate URL Ads - It appears I think I'm getting a lot of PSAs from AUA what could I be doing wrong?"

Here is a brief list of things you should review.
  • Do you have enough text content on your page? We need to have at least a small amout of text to identify "context."
  • Do you have a title tag that is relevant to your page?
  • Do you have meta tags such your meta description and meta keywords?
  • Do you have real words in your URL, file path and file names?
By making sure these items are taken care you will get the added benefit of improve search engine optimization. (Just consider the AUA crawler a "cousin" of the more common search engine spiders or indexing agents.)

Another new AUA website of note is Stock Cloud. I actually found it reading one of my favorite blogs, ResearchBuzz. Stock Cloud provides visitors with an info cloud (a tag cloud like display) of stock ticker symbols with larger sized symbols indicating more press release distribution. Symbols are linked to detailed company information. Very Cool!

It really seems like AUA is starting to attract websites from all walks of life!

Yikes! For about 3-4 hours yesterday the AUA information website was expierencing difficulties. This fluctuation was limited only to the AUA information website and did not effect the ad servers in any way.

I've found a few more interesting new Alternate URL Ads partners to share with you (they actually appear to be run by the same person or group) All Credit Directory and All Finance Directory.

The All Credit Directory is a human maintained directory of credit oriented websites.




The All Finance Directory is a human edited directory of finance oriented websites.

In both cases they appear to be using a combination of the social bookmarking application Scuttle with the OA framework. Very interesting stuff!
